This project may not go on some people best mixtape lists, but it is important as it keeps Bishop Nehru’s name currant and buzzing in the rap community. He may not be the biggest name but it is growing.
The production is laid back and relaxed but with some energy in parts to kick it up a notch. All the tracks have their own atmosphere which helps send the message home to the listener. However the backing can drown out Bishop Nehru as his deep tones can be lost in the other sounds.
The lyricism is good and still improving. Nehru does well to include various rap devices throughout his music and to utilise them to make his lyrics hit harder. The only problem, as mentioned before, is that he can fade away as some of the beats drown them out.
The choice to only have one feature is a good one because on a short project like this, it needs to be cohesive and enjoyable. Keeping mostly to himself gives Nehru more of a chance to showcase his own skills. The next step will be to have a longer project with more features to make it cohesive.
Overall, this is a good mixtape but not great due to the difficulty hearing Bishop Nehru. On the other hand it is a great kick back project that is helping to build up Bishop Nehru’s stock in rap.
