This is a great album from a veteran artist, showing that he still has a lot of talent behind the mic. Bun B has crafted a release that will resonate with a lot of listeners as having a lot of classic feel, but with a modern twist.
The production is great and works extremely well with Bun B’s rap style and tone. There is a lot of flavour in each beat and each backing creates the right atmosphere for the song. Maybe a few more softer offerings could make this feel a little more complete for some, but this is still a great listen when it comes to the production.
The lyricism is great, not the most complicated, but very enjoyable. Bun B has a unique vocal tone that exacerbates the impact of the rhymes and makes them much more entertaining. A little more experimentation with flow and complexity could show a little more willing to grow as an artist, but Bun B has certainly carved out his own lane here.
The features are great as each does a great job of showing their own capabilities as well as adding to the cohesiveness of the track list. All the guests fit perfectly into the song they are on and only bring positives to this project. It is possible that a few moresingers could add another dimension, but the guests on here are exactly what was needed for these particular songs.
Overall, this is one of the strongest releases of the year so far. Bun B has done a truly fantastic job creating this album and hopefully listeners will recognize that.
This is another strong release full of smart lyrics, enjoyable beats and poignant messages. While there is still a sense of fun, there are some important points made and both artists here do a great job showing their skills while getting them across.
The production is amazing and is entertaining to everyone. There are some good samples that are then flipped and turned into incredible backings that help keep the listener interested. DJ Premier continues to deliver his signature sound in ways that keeps the audience enjoying every second.
The lyricism is, of course, steller. Royce shows he is still a strong lyricist with examples of wordplay that keep Royce in contention for one of the best lyricists. He could have played around with his flow a little more, but he is well known for this style and exploits his creativity through it with ease.
The features do a great job of adding fresh voices to the tracks and enhancing the message given by them. Each brings a lot to the table and shows great chemistry with the rapper and producer. It would be nice to see Royce’s Slaughterhouse cohorts appear here but it is always nice to see that a member of a group doesn’t need to be propped up with them to make a great album.
Overall, this is a top release to show people that both artists are still forces to be reckoned with. Both should push forward with solo projects to continue to show those who have not heard of them why they should have.
This is a poignant and cohesive release that highlights a lot of political issues as well as others. T.I is trying to show some dark areas of America and he succeeds and then some.
The production is smooth and helps the tracks to flow easily as a listening experience, making it simple to listen to the message of the songs. There is some variation in energy levels as well as pace to bring a good amount of variation to the listen through. There are no issues here as there is nothing dull about the backing beats.
The lyricism is clever as well as passionate, which helps boost the impact of the rhymes. T.I weaves great tapestries of how he currently sees America and the issues inside. There are no problems with the words on this project as there is diversity in the flow, schemes and wordplay used to create an enlightening listen.
The features are great as they help give more points of view on the topics described in the tracks. Each puts in a good effort and pushes the others on the song to try harder themselves. Maybe a few more singers would give a softer touch on some of this project, but there is still a great balance between the artists.

This album has a lot of what K.R.I.T has done before but with renewed vidor and energy. While there are a lot of comparison to previous projects, there are definately some fresher attempts to make the songs appealing to listeners.
The production is great with a lot of more traditional instruements used to give this a smoother ride and more of an easy listening appeal. There are plenty of good beats for K.R.I.T to use with plenty of scope for content. Maybe some more varied backings could show more of a universal appeal for K.R.I.T but he does well over what he has chosen here/
The lyricism is good but does not seem as complex as it could be. It does not seem like the actual rhymes had too much thought and the focus is on the message which gets lost in the production. Some more focus on lyrical complexity could go a long way.
The features do well in adding another dimension to the project. Each bring s aoog verse to the projhect but does not propel the track they are on as intended. Maybe some more varied styles of rapper could have created some more interesting moments.

Each track is individual and they all cohesively run together without the listener being confused about what song is on. There are no flaws about the beats that Selektah is using to craft a very entertaining album.
As Statik Selektah is a producer putting together this album, the features make up all the lyrics on this project. However they all come with great verses and hooks, which contain a lot of thier own lyrical acrobatics. A few more rappers with a faster flow may have kept the energy flow up a bit through the project, but that may have stopped the balance of the correct atmosphere for each song.
Overall, this is a great album for all audiances of Hip Hop. The smooth production with the quick acrobatic rhymes make for a good time and this is a great stepping stone for Statik Skeletah.
This is a great album for kicking back to, or for smoking to if that is what you wanna do. There is a lot of songs aimed at smoking as well as more thought provoking songs.
The production is excellent and works extremely well with what Dizzy is rapping about on each track. the beats are cohesive and flow together without becoming one long song. A few more songs with higher energy may create a more universal project but it can be seen that Dizzy doesn’t want to give up on making songs he believes in.

Each song seems to have excellent wordplay in it backed up by Dizzy Wright’s passion about the content that improves the impact of each bar. Adding a few complications to his rhymes may help show more of an all round rap ability but there is no doubt that he knows how to write to connect with the listener.

This is a great project from Ludacris who seems to be following the same lines as his 1.21 Gigawatts mixtape. The messages and energy levels are great and keep flowing through the whole project.
The production is smooth and polished, making each song easier to listen to. They are beats that Luda has proved time and time again that he can use effectively and he continues to do so. Usually, more diversity is good but there is enough variation in this production to keep it very enjoyable.

This is a very enjoyable listen and while the use of autotune is frowned upon by portions of the Hip Hop community, T-Pain uses this opportunity to show that he is the best at using it and can use it well. There is a lot of energy in these songs and it is mostly down to autotune.
The production is excellent and combined with the autotune delivery makes for some very energetic, club ready tracks. There are a lot of interesting noises and sounds used to create beats that are rarer than others and stand out much re from the crowd. While it would be out of his nature, some more slowed down beats may help T-Pain make more of a connection to the listener.
The lyricism is better than expected. T-Pain includes a lot of different rap techniques through out the mixtape and it really shows that he is moving forward still in his career. It is clearer when he isn’t using autotune but it is all peppered through the entire project and helps build up the experiance.
The features are also excellent and all contribute to this being a good mixtape. All the guests put in good effort and channel thier passion for music into thier contributions. Some features a bit further out of his comfort zone may make a couple of interesting moments but this selection make great listening.
Overall, this is a very enjoyable listen and there is a song on there for everyone. T-Pain makes some great songs and should be commended on his efforts.
This is not a good album. Each track is boring and only gets anyone’s attention by repetition of boring choruses that get stuck in the listeners head. The tracks are all very similar with generic content and it does not make for a good listen.
The production is heavy going and reverberate deep into the brain without being stimulating or enjoyable. All the tracks follow the same formula and if it wasn’t for Rick Ross shouting over the top of it, it wouldn’t twig anyone’s attention. In fact, it may be avoided in such high doses.
The lyricism is terrible. While Ross has the ability to rap, he does a terrible job at attracting any Hip Hop audience that may want to hear lyricism. That being said, he can paint a picture but these moments are far apart on the project and cant make up for the short falls.
The features don’t fit well with the project, the exception being Big K.R.I.T. Whatever track they feature on, they blend too much into the backing beat and Rick Ross’ own style. Big K.R.I.T should be praised for maintaining his individuality so well on his feature, sounding different and bringing a very refreshing relief to the whole project.
Overall, this album has a lot of areas of improvement and to say you enjoyed the whole project means you enjoy only type of song and you like to hear it over and over. Rick Ross has a lot to prove if he wants to stay eve close to Hip Hop elites.
