This is an entertaining mixtape that has some replay ability but won’t be breaking any records. Lil Uzi Vert makes these tracks work together and helps keep things enjoyable.
The production is good with a lot of energy and positiveness going through the whole project. Each track is individual without running into the next one, but is cohesive enough so it isn’t a stop start listen through. Maybe some more diversity could make a more balanced mixtape but the theme of this project helps tie it all together.
The lyricism is good but not fantastic. Lil Uzi Vert relies on his delivery for a portion of the entertainment and while this is important, a few more technical attempts would help push this towards greatness. The rhymes are definitely still entertaining for the listener.
The features are good and help vary the project more. Each puts in a good effort and helps to flesh out the tracks they are on. Maybe some more singers could help bring in a wider audience with more crossover value but the guests on this do a great job.
Overall, this is great for people who want more connecting music between the new and older ages of Hip Hop, but there is still a long way to go and a few more technical skills to be polished. Lil Uzi Vert has made his name known and now needs to push himself to show he is better than others.
This is not a bad mixtape by Hodgy Beats but it does not stand out as fantastic. While there are no spots that show much weakness, there are no great strengths that pop out at the listener either.
The production is good and is easy to listen to. The beats each are very enjoyable and blend well with each other. However Hodgy is so loud over them that they lose some attraction and don’t have the impact that they should.
The lyricism is alright but the delivery lets it down. Hodgy has got some good rap techniques he uses but his loudness and his performance on these tracks lets those lyrics down. If he could get his message across with a smoother delivery, he would have more success.
The features are good and show good chemistry with Hodgy Beats, but don’t add huge amounts to the tracks they are on. While the features have some good verses, they don’t come with the wow factor that comes with a superstar performance. With some refining, they could go on to have great careers.
Overall, this is an enjoyable mixtape, but may not be among the greatest this year. With some more refining of the recordings and some work on the delivery, Hodgy could have a career in Hip Hop.
This mixtape has a surprising amount of range when it comes to content and emotions. Before listening, this mixtape was expected to be full of generic drugs and sex songs. However the tracks on this may contain some of that, but with a new approach and some songs that will connect heavily with the listeners emotions to help make this a solid project.
The production is very good with a slight feeling of going back to the boom-bap era of rap music. While there are some newer sounds on this, most of it is kept quite old school and this makes for a very nostalgic listen. Also, the beats are very cohesive and blend well into one another to help make a good listening experience.
The lyricism is alright but not the top aspect of this project. While this mixtape doesn’t slouch when it comes to wordplay, the messages on the tracks come across as more important than the actual words in use. Not to say that fans of lyricism wont enjoy this, but the content is what these songs are for.
Overall, this is a good and enjoyable project ot listen to and has at least a little bit of something for everyone. It is all enjoyable and Trust Gang should be looking to build upon this success.
