This album has all the flavours that a Jedi Mind Tricks album should be. It has the aggression as well as the soul searching that makes a complete listen through.
The production is amazing with a lot of interesting sounds and plenty of power behind them to really push the lyrics forward. It could be argued that the beats are too packed with sound to be effective, but it is actually very effective with the content and delivery of the artists on the songs. It is great to see an ebb and flow of the album as the backings get softer and harder as it plays through.
The lyricism is strong, with the delivery really boosting its appeal. With the performance elements making the rhymes stand out, they may not be the most complex raps out there, but they are still smart which makes a great combination. This element is one of the top reasons that this album is phenomenal.
The features all do great to add cohesiveness and extra voices to this project. All have great talent and show it in abundance on this. It would be interesting to see more singers appear on this, but the guests do a great job on this.
Overall, this is a very energetic album that has a lot of what makes great hip hop albums. A lot of aggression and chemistry between the group members mean this album will be spinning for a long time.
This release is another strong showing from both MF Doom and the members of Czarface. Each shows their own skills while keeping the project cohesive.
The production is amazing with the flavour of the previous Czarface albums still very much front and center throughout the whole album. Each track has a good atmosphere that helps lend itself to the way the project plays through. Maybe something further from the comfort zone might help stop this formula becoming stale in the future, but it is still effective now.
The lyricism is great with a lot clever wordplay and versatility through all the different voices. Each lyricist has their own style that keep the songs feeling fresh. There are no issues with how they perform on this project, but maybe switching up the flows might help push the boundaries a little further.
The features all do a great job of fleshing out this project. The chosen guests all have great talents and fit in very well with the Czarface narrative. maybe some more singers could add another dimension, but this all plays out especially smoothly as it is.
Overall, this is a nice addition to the Czarface catalog and a good showing of skill from MF Doom. Hopefully they continue this relationship and keep making this sort of music.
This album is a great listen through for a more settled down scene that is filled with passion. Apollo provides a great backing that never overpowers the rhymes and chooses those who fit in with his style very well.
The production is smooth and captures the essence of the song perfectly. Most seem to have a more old school feel as they dont rely on alien noises to make them appealing to the young generation. They are more substantial and soothing than that. Apolla puts across his beats well, with enough variation to show he is not stuck to one formula.
The features are good and reflect the style Apollo puts across very well. Each brings a lot of effort and pride with thier rhymes to make the tracks they are on shine out. A lot of them have worked with Apollo before and that shows in the chemistry of thier songs. There are no real issues with the guest selection on here, but Apollo may want to look into people further away from the genre to create even more of a buzz.
Overall, this is a great listen and a fantastic showcase for Apollo Brown’s beats. The way his backings works combined with the selected features molds an album that works well for everyone involved.
